XimenDing 西门町, Taipei

3rd Destination… August 2015

Snack and Shopping, Graduation Trip

I love SHOPPING!!!
Graduation trip…XimenDing.
A place with colourfully light up and surely looks like one of the best place to be.
This place is seriously huge with many streets to walk around.

Ximending has been called the “Harajuku of Taipei” and the “Shibuya of Taipei”.
Ximending is the source of Taiwan’s fashion, subculture, and Japanese culture.

This area is in the northeastern part of Wanhua District in Taipei.
It is also the most important consumer district in the Western District of Taipei.

The well-known Ximending Pedestrian Area was the first pedestrian area built in Taipei and is the largest in Taiwan.

Eat in Style: Themed Restaurants
There are several restaurants in Ximending that take on various themes – from their outlandish decor to offbeat dishes.

Wa Wa Wow (Doll Forest Cafe)
Enjoy a fairytale experience where you can sip a cup of milk tea while perched on a swing with a great window view. This cafe is known for the hundreds of dolls and stuffed animals nestled around the cafe. Drinks cost around 40-80NT. The dolls are also available for purchase.

Modern Toilet
The grub here is served up in dishes that resemble toilets, urinals, and bathtubs. Make sure to try their shaved ice dessert, served in fancy urinal and topped with marshmallows, jelly, cookies and of course a swirl of soft serve that has a discernable likeness. Meals range from 100-200NT.

Shopping Galore: Boutiques, Beauty Stores & more
Ximending is a shopper’s paradise, with hundreds of different stores. There are many fashion boutiques, novelty clothing stores, beauty shops, and much more.
